POWEROAD says its FLEX-261 Series has passed large-scale fire testing conducted in accordance with ANSI/CAN/UL 9540A:2026, Sixth Edition, and CSA/ANSI C800:2025. CSA Group issued the company a Letter of Attestation documenting the tests and evaluation.
The evaluation covered the FLEX 261, FLEX 261 AIO and FLEX 261 AIO-3S models in a multi-cabinet commercial and industrial battery energy storage system configuration. Conducted in mid-August 2026, the test used five cabinets: one initiating cabinet and four adjacent target cabinets.
The initiating cabinet was at 100% state of charge, with its fire suppression disabled and its door and deflagration panel manually opened before testing. According to the reported results, fire did not spread to the four target cabinets. No cell venting, thermal runaway or fire was observed in those cabinets, measurements remained within normal operating ranges, and the cabinets retained their structural integrity.
The test data can support fire safety reviews and assessments related to project permitting, insurance and financing for multi-cabinet C&I energy storage installations. POWEROAD says it has deployed more than 1,000 C&I energy storage projects worldwide.
