Chinese solar cell manufacturer Yingfa Ruineng has unveiled a 7.5 GW manufacturing plant in Indonesia, its first production base outside China. The facility, presented at a technology launch hosted by its subsidiary BCI, will produce n-type tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) solar cells.
Yingfa Ruineng said the plant is intended to supply Indonesia’s domestic market and serve as a regional hub for Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other international markets. The company also said the facility will support Indonesia’s 100 GW solar power program and efforts to expand domestic manufacturing and local content.
According to the company, local cell production could give project developers, contractors and module manufacturers shorter supply routes, closer technical coordination and more flexibility in planning. BCI’s local capabilities are also intended to help Indonesian module makers meet the country’s TKDN local content requirement, subject to applicable certification and regulatory rules.
The new facility joins three Yingfa Ruineng manufacturing bases in China. The company says the four sites have a combined effective capacity of 51.5 GW, including 45.5 GW of n-type TOPCon capacity.
The launch event also featured the company’s half-cell passivation, multi-cut cell designs and back-contact solar cells. Yingfa Ruineng said it is developing both TOPCon and back-contact technologies and has completed an initial end-to-end fabrication process for perovskite/back-contact tandem modules.
InfoLink ranked Yingfa Ruineng second in global solar cell shipments in the first half of 2026, behind Tongwei.
