JA Solar unveiled the HyperGen Pro module and its JA ESS 125 kW / 261 kWh liquid-cooled commercial and industrial (C&I) battery energy storage system at All Energy Australia 2026. The company said both products were designed with the Australian market in mind.
The 1,762 mm HyperGen Pro uses JA’s Hycium n-type back-contact cell technology, which places the electrodes on the rear of each cell. Combined with zero-busbar interconnection and a full-screen design, this increases the light-receiving area and gives the module a uniform appearance. The white version produces up to 510 W at a maximum efficiency of 25.5%; the all-black model reaches 505 W and 25.3% efficiency.
According to JA, the module is 12% to 14% lighter than dual-glass products of the same format. The lower weight can reduce rooftop structural loads, improve heat dissipation and allow one person to handle the module, making it suitable for C&I buildings with limited roof capacity.
The HyperGen Pro has an HW4 hail-resistance rating and is reported to withstand hailstones up to 40 mm in diameter. Its chemically etched, micro-textured glass diffuses reflected light, while a bypass design aims to limit power losses and hot spots under partial shading. JA lists a power temperature coefficient of −0.26% per degree Celsius, first-year degradation of 1% and annual linear degradation of 0.35% thereafter.
The JA ESS storage system uses lithium iron phosphate batteries and has a round-trip efficiency of up to 88%. Its liquid-cooling design reduces auxiliary power consumption by 10%, according to the company. Safety features include insulation monitoring, battery-pack monitoring and a three-tier fire and explosion protection architecture. JA also says its AI-powered predictive maintenance can cut downtime by up to 90%, with more than 90% of system faults resolvable remotely.
JA also displayed its DeepBlue 5.0 n-type TOPCon module series. The residential range includes a 485 W all-black model, while the company presented 550 W and 670 W modules for larger commercial, industrial and ground-mounted projects. The 670 W model has a bifaciality of 85% ± 5%, a temperature coefficient of −0.26% per degree Celsius and the same stated degradation rates as the HyperGen Pro.
