Gokin Solar has introduced a single-glass back-contact module series for residential and commercial rooftops in Australia. The BC GK-3-54HGF range comprises four models rated from 495 W to 510 W and supports systems up to 1,500 V.
The modules use 108 N-type back-contact half-cells sourced from Aiko, according to Gokin Australia Manager Charles Guo. He said the company also buys TOPCon cells from other partners while manufacturing its own wafers. Gokin claims its back-contact platform can deliver 6% to 10% more output than TOPCon products across the same installed area.
Maximum module efficiency ranges from 24.3% to 25%. The panels are CEC-certified and measure 1,800 mm by 1,134 mm by 30 mm, with a weight of 21.4 kg. Their ratings include a 5,400 Pa front load and a 2,400 Pa back load. Gokin says the 3.2 mm tempered glass can withstand hail impacts up to 25 mm in diameter at 23 m/s.
The series has a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year linear performance guarantee. The guarantee allows for up to 1% power degradation in the first year, followed by annual degradation of 0.35%, with at least 88.85% of the original rated output guaranteed at year 30.
Guo expects the modules to become available in Australia from early 2027. Gokin also announced agreements with OSW, GBP, and Peak Energy as part of its efforts to expand its presence in the Australian market.
